Push the dashboard!

All Zurmo users have the ability to create multiple dashboards to be switched between. This is a fantastic tool which allows users to switch their emphasis. For example, one organization or user may have a corporate dashboard, a dashboard for sales, billing and other departments. Multiple dashboards allow the organisation, or user, to change their hat and switch focus from one department to another. Super users – permitted by their super status – have the awe-inspiring power to push dashboards to other users, ensuring that team members or departments are all reading off the same page.

How to create a new dashboard

All users can create new dashboards by clicking on the ‘Create Dashboard’ button on the homepage. Desired portlets can be added to complete the new dashboard so that all required information is available at their fingertips.

To change focus, users simply need to click on ‘Switch Dashboard’ and they can chose which one of their dashboards to work with.

Push dashboards (Super Users only)

Pushing a dashboard is a way for Admins to set up dashboard on behalf of others and send send them to individual users or groups on the CRM. By clicking on ‘Push Dashboard’ the dashboard will be sent to the desired individual user or groups and will replace their default dashboard.

Remember however, that the dashboard serves as a template and that portlets will populate the relevant information for each user. For example, a ‘Sales’ dashboard may be pushed to various members on the sales team but the information contained within the portlets will depend upon what each member has saved in the CRM.

Important!! Users can only have one pushed dashboard at a time. When a Super user pushes a second dashboard to another user this replaces the one that they originally received. This does not affect the dashboards that users create themselves. 

Did you know?? 

Admins can also push the layouts of individual records for Contacts, Accounts, Leads and Opportunities. To do so click on the padlock icon in the top right hand corner of a record in order to unlock the layout. Then click on ‘Push Layout’ and, just as above, select the user or group to receive it. Clicking on save will establish the layout as default for that record for all specified users, and ensure that your staff are singing off the same hymn sheet!
