Zurmo core team member and gamification evangelist Ross Peetom has just posted on the Zurmo blog some more details about what we're doing with Badges and Achievements. Be sure to check out the post. If you have extensive ideas to add, do so here.

In terms of badges, here are my ideas:

"Mr. Clean" Badge - merging duplicate records together (get it on the 1st merge and in increments of 10)
"Opter Outer" Badge - opting out email addresses for Lead or Contact records (get it on the 1st opt out and in increments of 20)

I don't see any interface to the Gamification badges currently (or any setup for the module at all). I know that we will want to have a standard set for zurmo.org, but I think most people that implement this will want to control both the badges (images) and more importantly the points assigned for each. This will let them integrate the rewards into their business model, and also brand the recognition with their current recognition systems. For example, in my business I'd like to have the ability to assign points for calling leads, and more points when they become a contact, and when someone reaches this point milestone they become a business star, etc.

Are there plans to add an interface for this, or will this be a modification that would be done at the code level.

Hi Jimf,

We are not currently working on a GUI interface that would allow admins to create their own badges and/or modify the requirements for badge upgrades, currently this would have to be done at code level although this is not particularly difficult.

At some point in the future I think it would be nice to have some form of interface for creating or modifying badges. Remember in the mean time however that you can use the Missions module to challenge users to complete an objective. Currently the "Reward" is just an open offering given by the requester but in theory you could change this to allocate a number of XP points to an individual.
