Some Questions (Contact Customize/and belong relationships)

1) Is there any functionality for family relationships - i.e. if contact 2 is wife (or child of) contact 4?
2) Can I do custom one to many relations (like accounts?) - for schools, or other demographics? (i.e. contact 2 goes to X school?... and see school in list?
Is this something fairly easy (i.e. what Zurmo is designed for?) or is it too much arm twisting to make it worth it?
Thanks,

Hi Sam,Ok, I've just finished my dev install of Zurmo... I have something specific I want to use it for, and really want to know if it's possible, and the right tool for it before going for it... couple questions:
1) Is there any functionality for family relationships - i.e. if contact 2 is wife (or child of) contact 4?
2) Can I do custom one to many relations (like accounts?) - for schools, or other demographics? (i.e. contact 2 goes to X school?... and see school in list?
Is this something fairly easy (i.e. what Zurmo is designed for?) or is it too much arm twisting to make it worth it?
Thanks,

Interesting requirements. For question #1, you could create an Account called "Smith Family" and create multiple Contacts such as a father (John Smith), mother (Mary Smith), and son (Tom Smith). You could even create a "Type" field and select values from a dropdown such as father, mother, son, daughter, etc. Since there is a direct relationship between Contacts and an Account, you would have everything connected.
For question #2, you might be able to do what you outlined. Again, you can create an Account called "Hopkins School" and associate as many Contacts as you want to that school. When you look up the Account, you will see all the associated Contacts on the right hand panel of the detail view. Right now a Contact can only be associated to a single Account.
speixoto is creating a system for a school, but I'm not sure how similar his requirements are to yours: http://zurmo.org/for..._1380#entry1380
