This function is absolutely needed, but it is normally be provided by the user's CMS not the CRM. I do a lot of work in Drupal and you'll find Drupal modules to do lead capture for SalesForce, SugarCRM, vTiger, etc. I'm planning on writing a Lead Capture from Drupal to Zurmo. The main reason this is normally best done on the CMS is that most CRMs run behind the firewall since it is normally run by company employees and secured on the company's Intranet. Lead capture is always done on the Internet (public) which is where most company's will deploy their webpage using a CMS.
We can create a lead capture block in Zurmo, but we'd still want to supply some HTML code that would go into an iFrame on their external website because that's where the capture will be performed.
I'll do a lead capture Drupal page this coming week using the Zurmo REST API and post my progress on this blog entry.
