Hi,

I have tried to add leads by two ways

1. Manually entering the details

2. using a .csv to import the leads

When i try to use the first method and save the lead, I get the same lead page with all the fields blank and no lead is added

When i used the 2nd method then i get a message stating "fields are inconsistent with Contacts"

I am unable to figure out a way to get through this. Any information to get this fixed will be of great help.

Thanks in advance

This is hard to solve without knowing the details of your configuration. The starting point for debugging this is that there is no difference between a lead and a contact except the status so if you can save a contact, a lead should be saved.

The most basic mistake is to save a lead with a status that means it should be a contact.

The other mistake I've seen made is to have the order of the Contact Status setup incorrectly - check this in the designer. The starting status means any contact/lead record with a status after this value will be a contact.
