I don't think you copy the whole Facebook thing.
I envision a pretty transparent system where you can see the activity of your team and the activity of your contacts.
You would also get alerts if someone from your firm had lunch with one of your top contacts.
On another note, I think the whole concept of Leads and Opportunities needs to be rethought.

I do want to point out re: Leads and
Regarding leads and opportunities, Zurmo handles leads differently. Leads and Contacts are all Contacts. Leads are just contacts in certain statuses. You can configure the system to turn the leads tab off entirely and just maintain a contacts tab with the 'status' field still having a value 'lead' if you wanted. This allows for a much simpler configuration without sacrificing the use cases that want to have separate silos for leads and contacts.
