Hi,

I've set up demo for our testing purposes. Everything is fine, but I found this problem.

  • When I send email to Contact and BCC to Zurmo dropbox I get problem with encoding. (Just to clarify I use Thunderbird newest version) see Image. Problem is with Czech special letters like č š ř ž ý etc.
  • When I receive email from a contact I want to archive it I FWD to Zurmo dropbox and It returns to me with message that it could not recognize any email address.

Any tips? I dont know if problem is that I use thunderbird/I will try outlook as well, but this should not be problem..

thank for any suggestions

What version of Zurmo are you using? We fixed some bugs in our 1.1 release so please use this version to test. If you need to upgrade, you can use this wiki: http://zurmo.org/upgrades.

We have not done any testing with Thunderbird, but I doubt that is an issue. Go ahead and test with Outlook and let me know if you have the same problems.

Hello again,

So i tried with MS outlook 2007 the same scenario

1) From USER i send email to CONTACT and BCC on my DROPBOX EMAIL

2) System took the email and match it with contact, but

instead of:

Subject: příliš žluťoučký kůň úpěl ďábelské ódy #funny useless sentece, but good for testing :-)

Body: příliš žluťoučký kůň úpěl ďábelské ódy

It show this:

Subject: =?iso-8859-2?B?cPjtbGm5IL5sdbtvdehr/SBr+fIg+nDsbCDv4WJlbHNr6SDzZHk=?=

Body: p

3) when CONTACT Replys to me I as a USER open the email in Outlook and resend it to my DROPBOX EMAIL

4) And I get this:

Subject Sender info can't be extracted from email message Body

Hello improvisio,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I tested this locally and can reproduce the issue when I use a foreign character in the subject and/or body of the email. There seems to be a bug with foreign characters not properly being parsed. I have logged a bug with our dev team to get this resolved.

Thank you, Glad I could help. :-)

Since we are working on some usage cases with zurmo I plan to test all language issues according to it.

The encoding issue should be fixed in our 1.5

I too get "Sender info can't be extracted from email message" as a reply. We are using Zurmo 2.2.0. What is the solution?

you mean 2.5?

we are using community version latest and the problem still exist

it's not possible to archive any italian mail because of accents like òàèùì and also basica punctuation cause a truncated archived mail.

Any workaround ?

I also note another problem when i forward a message the submissiontime of the note should be extracted from the header so if i receive an email @ 12:00 am, and i forward @ 18:00 should be inserted with 12:00 as created time

Hello, I have also been experiencing that problem, when the email is picked up by the email archiving job and saved the presence of a special character will cut off the message in version 2.5.3. The message is recorded to the contact or lead but the body is cut off once a special character is used. Please let us know when this bug can be fixed as it renders the whole email archiving feature useless.

We need to do testing on this. We do not have priority on this now. We are working towards 2.6 and if resources free up, we can address.

the problem is that with this small bug you cutoff all non-english clients that are tryng to study ur crm to sell configuration for their clients. Mail archiving it's a core feature in a crm. Btw nice job i love ur product

I have the same problem with PRO version and french language

I mass forwarded emails to archive them but discovered that most of them contain only one letter and cut when a special character is met

I tried from outlook, mac mail, gmail, google apps + zurmo app = the same result = can't read emails

I'm sure Zurmo developers know the importance of mail in CRM

I personally cannot continue working like this and need to know if a fix is to come and when as this post started in march 2013 and ten months later, still the same problem

Between, I stopped adding contacts and archiving email until I get an idea about Zurmo interntions concerning this bug
