Is it possible to create a report that shows, eg, all Contacts with no Account selected?

In the filter section of the report form you can check if ordinary fields are null, but - using the Contacts example - you cant check if the Account field is empty or if it has no Opportunties related.

One way to surpass this was by checking if a required field of the related model was null, like the name of the account, but I was wandering if there is a better way to do it. Also, this method doesnt seem to work with lists: to check, eg, if there is any contact with no Opportunities..

(the same applies when creating a workflow)

Thank you,

Your workaround is actually an effective way of achieving the filter you want.

You will not be able to filter in the same way in list views since search filters at the list view level will not allow you to specify fields from related records in the search filters.
