In Topic: Odd (post-)install issue: Can't login unless "Remember me" checked

Actually, I did... sorry for not posting back here.

It ended up (for me) to be a PHP session configuration issue. Check to make sure that the PHP session.save_path configuration option (usually in /etc/php.ini) is writable by the web server user.

In Topic: Upgrade to 2.0 "Marketing" section

09 July 2013 - 02:39 PM

I was able to get the 2.0 Marketing module to work by doing the upgrade with the upgrade script and then replacing my entire zurmo directory with the one from the 2.0 installer. I had to copy the debug.php and perInstance.php files from the zurmo/protected/config directory over (and don't forget to change the ownership...)

Are there any other folders that should get copied over from my "upgraded" instance over to the new "clean" instance?

I do appreciate all the work that goes into Zurmo and it's a great product I've introduced to several colleagues. I wish it were possible to streamline the process of getting upgrades out for the community version. As a dedicated user, it's difficult to maintain a level of enthusiasm when you wait (and wait) for the latest version after it's "released" for new installs. That said, I understand (and appreciate) you're making a great product available for free, and we're playing in your sandbox, so I'm sympathetic to the challenge of how you manage limited resources.

I'll add a "me too" to this topic. I just upgraded to 2.0.11 and can't access the "Marketing" module. I get the same error.

In Topic: Can't change picklist on Salutation field?

I just ran into it trying to enter a lead: Rev. John Doe, Ph.D. As it stands now, I can't accommodate that.

In Topic: Can't change picklist on Salutation field?

Maybe it's a "DC thing", but people are fussy about those titles. We run into tons of other ones like Hon./The Honorable, Rep., Judge, and then there's all the military titles.

Also, being a "Jr." myself, there's all the suffixes.

In the interest of completeness a separate text field (which could be a custom field added by the user/implementer) for all the credentials: Ph.D., Ed.D., M.D., MSW and the rest of the alphabet soup around here. (You really can't use the suffix field for this, as you eventually have to deal with Mr. John Smith, Jr., Ph.D., M.P.H. and the permutations make the pick-list hideously long.

Particularly in the government arena, you really need to be able to capture all that information.

I'll open an enhancement request, if you'd like:

1) Pick list editable for Salutation field

2) An editable pick list for the Suffix (Jr., Sr., II, III, IV)

3) Bonus points for the credentials field (Esq., Ph.D., etc.)
