My question is very simple: What is email bounce, found as "email bounce configuration" in the settings?

My associations with the word doesn't make sense here, and I couldn't find it in the docs.

This is where bounced emails are processed. eg - you send out an email marketing campaign to 100 people. For whatever reason (email address no longer exists, recipients inbox is full, etc), five of the emails 'bounce' back and you receive a Non-Delivery Report. The bounce settings in Zurmo dictate where those reports go and how they are handled.

I understand what you mean but how do I configure it exactly?
and what is the Return Path?
can you show me an example of the configuration?

It really depends on your settings, but enter your host, port, user/pass, etc.
FOLDER: INBOX (usually)
Return Path: bounce@xxxx.com (usually your username)

What I used:

HOST: site url

PORT: 143

USERNAME: Email address of an active account- not the users account.

Password: Password for that account.

SSL connection unchecked

this is in a cpanel configuration- and there is no account bounce@ but I set up a forwarder for it to go to the email address of an active account above.

I'm hoping this is correct.

I'm not finding configuration explaination on the page mailMessages/default/configurationEditImap?type=2

and when I googled- I ended up here.
Should be an explaination in the set up guide.

How does the script decide which emails to process?

I use the same mailbox for the dropbox and bounce. I move the non-delivery notes to a folder called bounce. I have set the folder as /inbox/bounce. When I run the job, it processes the messages but not all of them, and I can't get it to process those mails. I'm deleting the joblog table entries for the emailbounce job type, to make it process messages older than the last successful run, but it doesn't work anyway. It processed 260 of 500 email, and won't process the rest. Running 2.8.5

I suggest you to use different email for bounce and different one for dropbox mailbox, maybe that will resolve your issue.
