What do I need to know before I install Zurmo?

In order to install Zurmo, you must be using PHP 5.3.0 or above.

You will also need the following information on your database:

Database host
Database admin username
Database admin password
Database name
Database username
Database password
Memcache host
Memcache port number

Installation is not very easy… Hard to do!

  I have problem to post links here, but you can check wiki articles, there are few articles related to Zurmo installation on different platforms(Linux, Windows) and in different environments(production, development).

    That’s all well and good, but if I am on their website, in the tutorials portion of the site, under the “Installation” category, I’d expect to find an installation tutorial not just a list of requirements to meet. Just sayin’.

It is true there are a few things to do to configure your server environment to work with Zurmo. But it depends also if you are looking to install it for testing and trying out, or for production. Many other middleware apps, like Drupal, also require tweaks to php.ini and other things to run properly.

Please note also there is a virtual appliance with zurmo, which has zurmo, the libraries, the configs, and the entire linux stack. For you it may be a much easier way to install and run Zurmo, especially if you are looking for a quick start.

Download and install Oracle VirtualBox, https://www.virtualbox.org/
and then follow the instructions here:

  I want to install like an end user would install it, but looking at it through engineering glasses. I want to follow documentation, I want to follow the steps, I want to see on my screen what the documentation says I will see for each step. Does that make sense?

I’ve got an installation problem, the “Install” button runs but nothing happens,
All the configuration is right except a little problem of apc extension …
What can I do ?

tried to install locally on MAMP on my mac. Your app seems to require more things that the typical php/mysql setup has I think. So I gave up.
