Configuring MySQL Server for Zurmo

Purpose:
To guide individuals through configuring MySQL for Zurmo Installation

Audience:
Anyone who wants to equip his machine with Zurmo.

Setup

Edit MySQL’s configuration and set the following configurations under [mysqld]

  • character-set-server=utf8
  • collation-server=utf8_unicode_ci
  • default-storage-engine=INNODB
  • max_sp_recursion_depth=100
  • max_allowed_packet = 20M
  • thread_stack = 512K
  • optimizer-search-depth = 0
  • log_bin = 0
    • This is default settings, and in most cases you will not need to modify it
  • sql_mode=”NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION”
    • This is default settings, and in most cases you will not need to modify it

Restart MySQL to make the changes take effect.

    As noted in the forums, simply comment out log-bin in my.cnf. This will disable binary logging. It will also disable replication.

    in ubuntu 12.04 with i-mscp panel, should be like following:

    #log_bin = /var/log/mysql/mariadb-bin
    #log_bin_index = /var/log/mysql/mariadb-bin.index

    comment out both, as windsor explained
